One of the primary ways people avoid dealing with pain is to “stuff it”. So often when people hurt us, we stuff it down deep in our hearts instead of dealing with it. When we live stuffing issues down for too long, we can build up serious health issues and even build up ugly anger.
God used truth to set us free, John 8:32…”The Truth will set you free”. It is not the truth about someone else that sets us free, it is truth about ourselves that we need to face. Facing truth about ourselves is very difficult and can be emotionally painful. What ever the truth is go ahead and admit it.
Facing truth about ourselves is the beginning of healing. It’s important to admit you may have a bad attitude. Admit your insecurities and fears about yourself. If you have a jealous streak, admit it.
There is a quality of strength, a certain victory, that accompanies a person when they face truth. Just being a person that is just making it through life or hiding behind images that you think others should see you as, lacks truth and true happiness. Freedom means I am able to make choices about how I will behave and not be a prisoner to negative emotions.
God is on your side, and that makes you more than a conqueror.
